Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the 2016 ISTE Standards for Students.
Artifact: Manual Metrology SoftChalk Lesson
This artifact aligns with ISTE Educator Standard 6: Facilitator, as it demonstrates my ability to use technology to create engaging, interactive learning experiences that support student understanding and skill development. Using the SoftChalk authoring tool, I developed a lesson focused on manual metrology in precision machining, incorporating instructional content, interactive activities, and embedded assessments to reinforce key concepts.
Through this lesson, students are able to actively engage with the material by participating in activities such as matching exercises and guided content exploration, allowing them to apply knowledge in a structured and interactive format. The use of digital tools in this lesson supports differentiated learning by providing multiple ways for students to interact with content and receive immediate feedback on their understanding.
This artifact reflects my ability to facilitate student-centered learning through technology by designing experiences that promote engagement, reinforce technical skills, and support mastery of essential concepts in a Career and Technical Education environment.
SoftChalk is an instructional authoring tool that allows instructors to create interactive, web-based lessons that integrate text, images, videos, links, and assessments into a single learning experience. Lessons built in SoftChalk can be easily shared through learning management systems and accessed by students at their own pace.
For instructors, SoftChalk enhances student learning by supporting structured lesson design, embedded knowledge checks, and multimedia integration without requiring advanced technical skills. It is especially useful for creating reusable instructional modules, reinforcing complex concepts, and providing guided practice opportunities that help students engage with content beyond traditional lectures.
QR Codes for Personalized Learning
This artifact demonstrates my ability to design and implement technology-driven learning experiences that promote student choice, flexibility, and engagement. Using QR codes, I created a personalized learning environment where students can access differentiated resources, instructional videos, and interactive content at their own pace. The accompanying recorded presentation illustrates how these tools were implemented in a structured learning experience and how they can be used to support self-directed learning in both classroom and technical training environments.
